MEET RICH EMBURY

Rich Embury was the owner and man behind the mask at Pure Rock Radio (PRR was on-air for 25 Years: May 1st, 1996 to July 1st, 2021), and the host/presenter of the live, internationally syndicated radio shows (and podcasts) Rich Embury’s R3TROGRAD3 + Rich Embury’s Power Hour + Rich Embury’s Metallic Utopia! His live radio shows are heard on almost 3 dozen international internet and FM stations around the globe, and the podcast versions of his shows now reach well over 15 000 listens and downloads per episode/show/week on combined podcast sites and apps, and charts regularly top 100 & top 50 in many countries! Rich has a long history in radio. Beginning in the 1980s with his high school show on MRCR (Mount Royal Collegiate Radio), he broke the mold and long restrictions against playing heavy metal on the air. Fast forward to the mid-1990s with the weekly CFCR 90.5FM show in Saskatoon, focusing on local music. He created his own internet radio station (originally Radio306.com to Pure Rock Radio), at a time when it was much more difficult and super rare to have an internet station, and many years before terrestrial FM and satellite stations put their radio feeds online. Rich was a board member of S.O.M.A. (Saskatchewan Original Music Assoc.) and broadcast coordinator, which is where his love for supporting independent, local, and struggling bands took hold. The roots of Pure Rock Radio celebrate indie bands, mixed with better-known, major-label artists. His current radio show Rich Embury’s R3TROGRAD3 continues the tradition. Rich Embury’s R3TROGRAD3 is a LIVE, uncensored, weekly radio show and podcast. It’s syndicated on multiple radio stations worldwide, and plays “everything that rocks!” The classic rock of the ’70s and ’80s, hair metal and the glam rock of the ’80s and early ’90s, plus hard rock and heavy metal of all types from yesterday to today, with mainstream metal to death and extreme metal! If it “rocks” it fits!! There are specialty shows that focus on new and upcoming releases, interviews with up ‘n’ coming artists and rock stars, and there’s something for every rock and metal fan! No elitism here, if you like the heavy mix, this show is for you! Rich Embury’s Power Hour is an hourly, weekly, live radio show and podcast. Focused on Classic Rock and Classic Metal from bands of the ’70s, ’80s & ’90s only! It is syndicated on multiple radio stations worldwide! Rich Embury’s Metallic Utopia is a relatively NEW, hourly, live radio show and podcast. Focused on new and upcoming Hard Rock and Heavy Metal releases, plus Classic Rock, and Metal mixed in for good measure! It airs exclusively on FCK.FM every Saturday!
