Artist Rights & Music Submission Information
Important information for artists, bands, managers, labels, promoters, and other authorized representatives submitting music to Rogue Rock Radio.
We appreciate every artist who considers Rogue Rock Radio for their music. This page explains what happens to submitted recordings, how approved music may be used, how removal requests are handled, and why accurate metadata is important for broadcast and royalty reporting.
What Happens to Your Submission?
Submission does not guarantee approval or airplay. If a submission is declined, Rogue Rock Radio does not retain the submitted music file for future programming; the music file is deleted from our submission workflow.
If a recording is approved, it may be added to the Rogue Rock Radio Music Library so authorized RRR DJs can preview the song and download it for use during RRR live programming. Approved music may also be uploaded to our streaming system for possible AutoDJ rotation.
Approval does not require an RRR DJ to play the recording and does not guarantee any particular amount or frequency of airplay. As part of our current programming format, independent music may be selected periodically during general AutoDJ rotation; programming practices may change over time.
Your Right to Request Removal
An artist, sound-recording rights owner, or authorized representative may request that approved music be removed from Rogue Rock Radio programming. Upon a valid request, RRR will remove the recording from systems under our control, including our Music Library and streaming/AutoDJ system, so that the recording is no longer available for new RRR downloads or rotation.
If an authorized RRR DJ previously downloaded a copy for live programming, RRR will instruct the DJ to delete that copy. Because those files may reside on personally controlled DJ equipment or music libraries, RRR cannot independently verify or guarantee deletion of every previously downloaded copy.
Removal requests may be sent to music@rogue-rock-radio.com. Please identify the artist and recording and provide enough information for us to verify that you are authorized to make the request.
Live Shows and Simulcasting
Rogue Rock Radio's DJs and presenters are volunteers. Some presenters also independently broadcast or simulcast their live programs on other radio stations. If an RRR presenter selects your recording during one of those live programs, the performance may also be heard on another station carrying that presenter's program at the same time.
RRR does not provide other stations with access to the Rogue Rock Radio Music Library and does not distribute approved recordings to other stations as part of our music-submission process. RRR also does not control a volunteer presenter's separate relationship with another station.
Licensing, Royalties & Reporting
Rogue Rock Radio operates its internet radio stream through Live365. Live365 provides licensing and royalty reporting for territories covered by RRR's applicable Live365 service and reports qualifying digital performances to the appropriate rights organizations.
For U.S. statutory non-interactive digital performance royalties for sound recordings, SoundExchange collects and distributes royalties to eligible featured artists and sound-recording rights owners. Artists and rights owners should register with SoundExchange and claim or register their recordings so that royalties reported as due can be properly associated with them.
Registration with SoundExchange is free. Registration or airplay does not, by itself, guarantee that a particular artist or recording will earn a particular amount of royalties.
Accurate metadata matters. Live365 requires accurate track information for licensing and royalty reporting. Submitted MP3s must be properly tagged with accurate Artist Name, Song Title, and Album information where applicable. Missing or inaccurate metadata can interfere with proper identification and reporting of a recording's airplay.

Broadcast Permission and RRR Programming
Music submitted to Rogue Rock Radio is reviewed for RRR programming. When submitting music, the copyright owner or authorized representative grants RRR permission to review and store the submission, make an approved recording privately available to authorized RRR DJs for RRR programming, and broadcast approved music through RRR AutoDJ rotation and live radio shows in accordance with the permissions stated on the Music Submission Form.
RRR personnel are not granted permission to use submitted recordings for unrelated personal or commercial purposes merely because the music was submitted to the station.
